Yucca rostrata

Beaked Yucca

OVERVIEW:

Yucca rostrata, also known as the Beaked Yucca, is a drought-tolerant, evergreen shrub or tree that is native to Mexico.  It is one of the most cold hardy of all the Yuccas we grow at V&P.  This blue-gray yucca this plant is ideal for large low water use landscapes.  Similar to the Yucca rigida, as the older foliage on this yucca dies, it lays flat against the trunk of the plant, forming a thick thatch that is also called a skirt.   Like most yuccas, its flowers attract insects such as butterflies and moths.
