Agave desmettiana

Smooth Agave, Spineless Jade

OVERVIEW:

Agave desmettiana, often commonly called spineless jade agave or smooth agave, is a rosette-forming perennial succulent that is native to the Mexican states Oaxaca, Yucatan and Veracruz. Known for its dark blue-green leaves, it has a thick, rigid, fleshy leaf with smooth margins and a single reddish sharp terminal spine. Although monocarpic, it does produce copious pups at its base, easily used for production in lieu of its lack of seeds.
